MCC IS FOUNDED

In 1968, a year before New York's Stonewall Riots, a series of most unlikely events in Southern California resulted in the birth of the world's first church group with a primary, positive ministry to gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transgender persons.

Those events, a failed relationship, an attempted suicide, a reconnection with God, an unexpected prophecy, and the birth of a dream led to MCC's first worship service: a gathering of 12 people in Rev. Troy Perry's living room in Huntington Park, California on October 6, 1968.

That first worship service in a Los Angeles suburb in 1968 launched the international movement of Metropolitan Community Churches, which today has grown to 43,000 members and adherents in almost 300 congregations in 22 countries. During the past 40 years, MCC's prophetic witness has forever changed the face of Christianity and helped to fuel the international struggle for LGBT rights and equality.

Metropolitan Community Church is a place for all people. It is our founding belief that all are welcome at the table whether they are GLBT, Straight, Questioning, a member of MCC, a member of another church, or not affiliated with a church at all. The love of God is NOT conditional. All are welcome!

I am currently reading one of the oldest books I own, which I recieved from my Grandfather when I was a little sprog. It's called Heidi, and I forgot how wonderful this book is. O course i ruined the book by putting stickers on the front and back covers, but never mind.

I was very interested in the little poem that Heidi used to teach Peter the goatherd to read. I searched for it online but it was not there, so for anyone that might be remotely interested, here it is.

When things in your life seem, Almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked The students again
If the jar was full.. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand
And poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively
Filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions
Things that if everything else was lost
And only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --
The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for The pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time And energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for The things that are
Important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.

Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

Dear Dr Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord — Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness — Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?

I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination — Lev. 11:10 — it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? — Lev.24:10-16.

Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU JESUS?

As you read this think about what you would do!

"Excuse me, Are you Jesus?" This is really powerful and makes one think!!!! A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.

ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.

He was glad he did.

The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight. The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.

When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly."

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?"

He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?" Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.

If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

No One has the right to take Jesus from anyone .

Let noone judge us as only God and Jesus stands as our mentors.

What would Jesus do?

There are many Christians today who will try to take Jesus away from us. So to all you Christians who don’t have room in your heart for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender, intersex, queer and questioning people…I will remind you of the story of the Pharisees…the upright religious leaders of the day:

“While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”- Matt 9:10-13 Oh and a reminder…we are all sinners. You and me.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” - Romans 3:23 And remember Jesus’ woe to the Pharisees:

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the dominion of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” – Matthew 23:13 So because of people like this, we have seen countless GLBTIQ people who once loved the Lord who now feel separated from God because of the voices drummed into their heads by “Christians". Christians who send the message of hate and hopelessness:

“God hates you. You are going to hell. You can’t be gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender AND Christian at the same time. You're an abomination to God.”

Hmmm. A real sweet bunch of folks, huh? By telling us that we are going to hell...you are saying more about yourself than about us.

When Jesus was asked by a mob to condemn a woman caught in the very act of adultery (John 8: 3-11) Jesus said, "Those who are without sin among you, may cast the first stone" and one by one...the men starting from the oldest...disappeared. So before you decide to cast the first stone at us....you better examine the lack of love in your heart. Some people will say that the story is about the adulteress. But the story is also about the judgmental majority who were ready to prove how she was such a sinful person and execute punishment on her. Sound familiar? Jesus showed that their sin of unforgiveness and lack of compassion was no different from her sin. Jesus did not condemn her.

But wait there's more

But there is more

Ah...but you say" Yea, but see, Jesus told her '...From now on sin no more' and you GLBTIQ people are still sinning."

Now look at what you just did! The whole idea of "Those who are without sin among you, may cast the first stone" is that Jesus is saying...STOP POINTING THE FINGER AT SOMEONE ELSE! And there you go pointing the finger AGAIN at us...after hearing this story!

"Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." - Matthew 7:1-5 And what will happen when you take the log out of your own eye? You will see the humanity of all of us and realise that we are no different than you and that it isn't about trying to take specks out of each other's eyes...but about forgiveness, compassion and love for your brothers and sisters. You see our salvation is between us and God. Not us, God and you.

Consider Jesus' parable of the landowner. Some laborers complained because the landowner treated all the workers equally by paying them all the same wage. (Matthew 20: 1-16). The landowner said to them..."Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous? Thus the last shall be first, and the first last."

And because of the silence of the mainstream church…we have suffered ridicule, condemnation and verbal and physical bashing. There are thousands who have committed suicide because of this message of hate and because of the fear of the church to stand up and say, “No…God hates no one. God loves everyone and the salvation of Jesus is open to all”. (John 3:16) How is it that a Christian could tell someone that God hates them?

In the past, the church has used the Bible to justify slaughtering Indians, Black slavery, keeping women from having basic rights, the persecution of the Jews, upholding racial segregation, etc. It wasn’t until a new generation realised that their elders in fact committed sin by their lack of compassion and active persecution of their brothers and sisters in the name of Christ, did things change. No wonder the world is cold to Christianity.

It is Christians who have turned off the world to Christ.

And of course now they are trying to prevent us from having rights to live, love and even to worship the Lord. Basic human rights.

“We love because God first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates their brother or sister, they are liars. For anyone who does not love their brother and sister, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And God has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love their brothers and sisters.” – 1 John 4:19-21.

So I guess that means you HAVE TO love us just like we HAVE TO love you.

You don’t think we are your brothers and sisters? Oh yes we are! Ahhh, but you think we are not saved because we haven’t “changed our ways”…because we are still gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning.

OK…then you tell me how people are saved?

By GRACE!

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any people should boast."– Ephesians 2: 8,9 By grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Not by works. Do you hear that? Works cannot save us. There is nothing humanly possible that I can do that will save me. Only by the grace of Jesus Christ are any of us saved. So, we are saved whether you like it or not.

But you say…

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”- James 2:17 But our faith is alive. We follow the Lord’s great commandments that Jesus gave us.

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. - Matthew 22:36-40 But you still think we are not saved because we are living in sin by still actively being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning. We do not consider our orientation a sin. This is who we are. We do consider some things like promiscuity or being lustful a sin. But we are no more guilty of that than Christians who battle those same issues. Everyone lives in sin and you and I are guilty... yet Christ has accepted us and is working with us on each of our issues through His grace and forgiveness...this is the message of the gospel:

"But God commends love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8 And we believe that though we are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning, we are still called to a moral and ethical life of integrity. A life worthy of the name of Jesus Christ.

But many Christians think we are somehow more sinful than they are. On the "Sin Scale"...homosexuality somehow rates up there in the top ten "unpardonable sins", next to murder. "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven: but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven."- Matthew 12:31.)

Perhaps your sin is the sin of thinking you are better than us. You better look at the Jesus parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer. But He said much about people judging each other, thinking they are better than others and yes He was angry...but He was angry at the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes, who did everything correctly, who lived perfect religious lives...but couldn't have love and compassion in their hearts for anyone but themselves.

"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8

We are Christians who love our Lord Jesus Christ. We are your brothers and sisters.

Letter to those who hate us

A Letter to Christians Who Don’t Like Us.

Oh and a reminder…we are all sinners. You and me.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” - Romans 3:23

And remember Jesus’ woe to the Pharisees:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the dominion of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” – Matthew 23:13

So because of people like this, we have seen countless GLBTIQ people who once loved the Lord who now feel separated from God because of the voices drummed into their heads by “Christians". Christians who send the message of hate and hopelessness:
“God hates you. You are going to hell. You can’t be gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender AND Christian at the same time. You're an abomination to God.”

Hmmm. A real sweet bunch of folks, huh? By telling us that we are going to hell...you are saying more about yourself than about us.

Ah...but you say" Yea, but see, Jesus told her '...From now on sin no more' and you GLBTIQ people are still sinning."
Now look at what you just did! The whole idea of "Those who are without sin among you, may cast the first stone" is that Jesus is saying...STOP POINTING THE FINGER AT SOMEONE ELSE! And there you go pointing the finger AGAIN at us...after hearing this story!
"Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." - Matthew 7:1-5
And what will happen when you take the log out of your own eye? You will see the humanity of all of us and realise that we are no different than you and that it isn't about trying to take specks out of each other's eyes...but about forgiveness, compassion and love for your brothers and sisters. You see our salvation is between us and God. Not us, God and you.
Consider Jesus' parable of the landowner. Some laborers complained because the landowner treated all the workers equally by paying them all the same wage. (Matthew 20: 1-16). The landowner said to them..."Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous? Thus the last shall be first, and the first last."
And because of the silence of the mainstream church…we have suffered ridicule, condemnation and verbal and physical bashing. There are thousands who have committed suicide because of this message of hate and because of the fear of the church to stand up and say, “No…God hates no one. God loves everyone and the salvation of Jesus is open to all”. (John 3:16)
How is it that a Christian could tell someone that God hates them?

We are here to say that Jesus is our King and Lord. Now in the new millennium, I have come to believe that our presence has a purpose in God’s plan. We are the thorn in the church’s side. We are here to teach about Christ’s inclusive love that has no bounds. Christ’s love and compassion is open to all, not just you and your friends.
In the past, the church has used the Bible to justify slaughtering Indians, Black slavery, keeping women from having basic rights, the persecution of the Jews, upholding racial segregation, etc. It wasn’t until a new generation realised that their elders in fact committed sin by their lack of compassion and active persecution of their brothers and sisters in the name of Christ, did things change. No wonder the world is cold to Christianity.
It is Christians who have turned off the world to Christ.
And of course now they are trying to prevent us from having rights to live, love and even to worship the Lord. Basic human rights.
“We love because God first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates their brother or sister, they are liars. For anyone who does not love their brother and sister, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And God has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love their brothers and sisters.” – 1 John 4:19-21.
So I guess that means you HAVE TO love us just like we HAVE TO love you.
You don’t think we are your brothers and sisters? Oh yes we are! Ahhh, but you think we are not saved because we haven’t “changed our ways”…because we are still gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning.
OK…then you tell me how people are saved?
By GRACE!
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any people should boast."– Ephesians 2: 8,9
By grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Not by works. Do you hear that? Works cannot save us. There is nothing humanly possible that I can do that will save me. Only by the grace of Jesus Christ are any of us saved. So, we are saved whether you like it or not.
But you say…
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”- James 2:17
But our faith is alive. We follow the Lord’s great commandments that Jesus gave us.
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. - Matthew 22:36-40
But you still think we are not saved because we are living in sin by still actively being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning. We do not consider our orientation a sin. This is who we are. We do consider some things like promiscuity or being lustful a sin. But we are no more guilty of that than Christians who battle those same issues. Everyone lives in sin and you and I are guilty... yet Christ has accepted us and is working with us on each of our issues through His grace and forgiveness...this is the message of the gospel:
"But God commends love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8
And we believe that though we are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and questioning, we are still called to a moral and ethical life of integrity. A life worthy of the name of Jesus Christ.
But many Christians think we are somehow more sinful than they are. On the "Sin Scale"...homosexuality somehow rates up there in the top ten "unpardonable sins", next to murder. "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven: but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven."- Matthew 12:31.)
Perhaps your sin is the sin of thinking you are better than us. You better look at the Jesus parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer. LIFE THOUGHTS BY 'DUCKY'


	Marriage changes passion. Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.
I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it. So I said 'Implants?' She hit me.
	How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?
Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.
	I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!
When I was young we used to go 'skinny dipping,' now I just 'chunky dunk.'
	Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!

Wouldn't you know it.... Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.

The 12 Steps

Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our lives had become unmanageable
Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God
Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves
Step 5 - Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs
Step 6 - Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character
Step 7 - Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings
Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all
Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others
Step 10 - Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it
Step 11 - Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out
Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs

THE TWELVE STEPS
OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

MY SON

Take my Son

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I thinkyour son would have wanted you to have this.'

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son
did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandt's. Get on with the real bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings?'

'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, the same message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

A Points System Should Bring Some Sanity Into the Debate

Concerning the Homosexuality and Christianity debate, from now on no one is allowed to talk about it unless they have enough points:

10 if you have considered and studied the relevant biblical passages

10 if you have actually read the six passages about homosexuality in the bible

20 if you have read other passages that might affect the way you read those six passages

5 if you have read one or more books that reinforce the position you already hold

25 if you have read one or more books arguing the opposite position

10 if you have spent three hours reading websites showing a variety of views

50 for every friend you have who's been through an ex-gay ministry

50 for every friend who's been through an ex-gay ministry that didn't work

50 for every friend who's gay and in a long-term committed relationship

50 for every friend who's gay and not in a committed relationship

50 for every parent you've listened to whose child is gay

When you have 3,000 points, you can speak on the issue."

UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST

Faithfully we will serve him

Day by day in our own little ways
